Cape Coral Fire Department – Reality TV Show July 2, 2014

Mark Your Calendar    July 2, 2014   10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

Cape Coral Fire Engineers Amanda Brashear and Mark Solich were selected by Swiss producers to travel to Switzerland for their part in the “Job Swap”.

Cape Coral Fire Truck

Fire trucks draped with the American flag will be situated next to the Iwo Jima statue to provide a strong visual backdrop for the two visiting Swiss firefighters participating in a week-long job exchange with the Cape Coral Fire Department. This ceremony will be their first glimpse of Cape Coral.

It’s all part of a Swiss Reality TV Show called Job Tausch, or “Job Swap”. This will be the third season of this popular show, and Cape Coral is honored to be selected out of all the Fire Departments in the country.

On July 2, the Welcome Ceremony will include an Honor Guard, words from Mayor Marni Sawicki and Fire Chief Donald Cochran, and a Proclamation in honor of this week-long job and cultural exchange. But the most important element will be a strong show of support from the community. The show’s producers are looking for “fanfare” and we know the Cape has plenty of enthusiasm to spare.

Please join us at Eco Park, at the base of the Veteran’s Memorial Bridge, for this special ceremony. You might want to arrive a few minutes early. We will work to have things wrapped up by 11:00 a.m. or sooner.

Thank you for helping us to showcase our beautiful city!
