Community Band Performance – April 1(last of season)

Come out and hear the Lee County Community Band perform on Sunday, April 1st, 2012 at 3:00 pm at Mariner High School.  This event is FREE!

                        

The band is composed of 52 musicians who love playing patriotic songs, show tunes, old favorites and Dixieland.

The Fairy Lovely Afternoon – April 1

“The Fairy Lovely Afternoon” a Whimsical Afternoon Tea at the Burroughs Home

Mothers, grandmothers, daughters and granddaughters – your girl will be delighted with a variety of fairy activities and dessert fare guaranteed to delight even the most skittish of these creatures. Fairy costume is most certainly encouraged for the fairy parade!

Tickets for the event are $25 for adults and $30 for children

The Chrome Divas Fundraiser – April 1

The Chrome Divas are hosting a fundraiser for the Cape Coral Bootstrap Homeless Ministry – Sunday, April 1st.

The event begins at Gatorz Bar & Grill with sign-up from 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM.

Riders will follow clues to the final destination at Victory Lane Cafe.

Cost is $15 for riders and $10 for passengers – all proceeds go to the ministry which provides meals and other services to homeless individuals and families.

Big “O” Birding Festival – March 27 – 31

If you are a bird enthusiast, then this is the event for you!  You can choose an all-inclusive package for the 4 day event or if you only want to do some of the things, then go a-la-carte!  See below for the schedule of events and registration forms.  You can also register online.

You will see birds throughout Glades and Hendry counties on your adventures.  Here are some examples:

  • bird and nature watching on Lake Okeechobee and Caloosahatchee River
  • kayaking and canoeing the historic oxbows on the Caloosahatchee River
  • visit the Witherspoon Mine and historic Ortona Indian Mounds
  • classes and bird photography trips with John J. Lopinot

Pro Tennis Madisen’s Match – March 31

Madisen’s Match is a 3 part charity event to raise money for cancer research.  The event runs 8:30 AM – 9:00 PM.

    •   4:00 pm    Exhibition opens to the general public
    •   4:15 pm    The Legends doubles exhibition match and Singles Match featuring 2 current ATP players

The Fast and the Furriest – March 31

The Gulf Coast Humane Society fundraiser, The Fast and the Furriest is Saturday, March 31st.  Start time is 8:00 AM at Coconut Point Mall.

Get your running or walking shoes on and Register here for the 5K run & 1 mile walk.  It’s a great way to raise money for the Gulf Coast Humane Society and get in shape at the same time!!!

Funkfest 3 – March 31 – Punta Gorda

OKAY – does anyone know anything about this????   Here Come the Mummies is a band that will headline at Funkfest 3, but I really don’t know what else is happening this day.  Fill us in please…………
